April 2015, we bailed Lucky Friday (LF) out. He's named as such because it was a Friday when he left the Ava pound.
LF was one of our first few cases as a new rehoming partner, that allows us to bail impounded strays. We didn't know what he was like, not his marking, his age, nor his temperament. All we know was we needed to save his life.
When we first set our eyes on him, our hearts broke into a trillion pieces. The first photo shows how frightened he was. He pooped on the spot when we tried to touch him. Yet, he remained a very gentle boy, allowing himself to be stroked and patted. We knew deep down that this boy will need a lot of time and patience for him to get comfortable with us. And hopefully, adopted eventually. We were prepared to keep him for as long as required.
We didn't have any fosterer then, so LF was placed in a factory where he got his personal space to roam and get settled in. We left him as he was, to take his own time to open up.
Until 2 months ago, we decided it was time for him to move into a foster home, to let him interact with other dogs, to learn how to be a domesticated dog and learn house rules and pack ranking.
LF loves to be with other dogs, the more playful the better. He remains very shy towards humans but with dogs, he can be his goofy self, and when comfortable, the spy cam has caught him taking toys and playing by himself at night.
LF is ready to be adopted. He's been with us for 1.5 years, perhaps the longest resident bail out but we need to find him a home where he truly belongs. He's still work in progress but nothing time and patience can't conquer.
If only you'll give him this chance.
LF is a very sweet boy, he just isn't that comfortable with humans. Perfect with dogs. If you have a place for him, do touch base with us, via PM or 97890569.
